Monas, the National Monument. A Russian-built marble obelisk in the geographical heart of Jakarta. Standing 137 meters high topped with 35 kg of pure gold leaf symbolising the flame of freedom.
This colossal, cosmic mountain is one of humanity's most imposing creations. Nothing else like it exists. Erected 200 years before Notre Dame and Chartres cathedrals, it predates the Buddhist temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia by three centuries.
